Autonomy Corporation, an infrastructure software provider, says it has added spoken language identification technology to its range of intelligent audio analytics solutions.

The Automatic Spoken Language Identification module will enable call centres, media organizations, and global enterprises to recognize the spoken language in various media files. It’ll also handle phone conversations and recordings and take action upon this understanding automatically and in real-time.

Thus, for example, the new module will enable the multi-lingual call centre to identify the spoken language and route calls to the relevant agent and media professionals to categorize media files by the language spoken in them.

According to the company, organizations can add new languages without the need to create a complete speech-to-text system for that language, and extract voice from the audio channel, splitting a recording into discrete speech and music clips.

Likewise, broadcasters and news editors can navigate through the audio stream and access pertinent content.
