si“SI Swimsuit 2009” is a new mobile app for iPhone and will come soon to the BlackBerry handsets. Introduced by Sports Illustrated (SI) Group, it’s claimed to be the first mobile application in the lifestyle category to deliver video of SI’s gorgeous Swimsuit models and Swimsuit photos.

The application, which retails for $2.99, is the mobile extension of SI Swimsuit – a multimedia franchise. It features video and photos of all 20 models from the 2009 SI Swimsuit franchise and allows users to create their own daily sports calendar.

They can customize it to follow their favorite pro or college teams along with their choice of SI Swimsuit model each month.

Features of the new SI Swimsuit application include:

— Videos from every shoot in the 2009 issue including the fan favorite body painting.
— A collection of 20 stellar high quality photos for each model, including cover model Bar Refaeli, Danica Patrick, Brooklyn Decker, and Hilary Rhoda.
— Customizable sports calendar to keep track of schedules and scores for up to six of your favorite professional and/or college sports teams.

SI partnered with mobile applications developer Azuki Systems to create the application.

After the initial launch on iPhone, the application will be available for both the Blackberry Storm and Bold in August 2009.
