Glu Mobile, a leading global publisher of mobile games, has announced the launch of the game Cops & Robbers on the Apple App Store. The app is an original Glu title for iPhone and iPod touch. Players will play a thief escaping pursuers or play as a cop chasing down a criminal on the run.
In a related development, SGN, a game developer for iPhone, has opened its network to other application developers, enabling these partners to grow adoption of their games in application market.
Among the other iPhone games, Cooking Star is a fun set of mini-games where players get to tilt, touch, flick, tap and flip to cook up mouth-watering meals, master the menu, and become a Star Chef! Glu Mobile has introduced its Cooking Star application on the Apple App Store.
Earlier, Glu Mobile said it’ll deliver 30 titles on BlackBerry App World. It’s a new online destination for consumers to find applications designed for BlackBerry smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM).
Today, many players from the entertainment and mobile markets are joining hands to offer their mobile games to consumers. Now you can have baffling brain teasers to games based on Hollywood blockbusters right under your thumb. Some of these mobile games are listed under the My Techbox Online Market Intelligence Series.
“Cops & Robbers introduces unique sub-genre because we set out to make a fast-moving experience that has the flow of a racing game with the variety and challenge of an action platformer,” said Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing, Glu Mobile.
The game uses accelerometer controls of the iPhone and iPod touch. Set in a 3-D urban landscape, it’s full of shadows and rich glowing effects, says the company.
Its features, according to the company, include:
