MOTO W7 Active Edition is a motion-enabled 3G mobile device announced today (May 11) by Motorola. The phone is equipped with an accelerometer that senses your body’s motions, orientation, and hand gestures to perform tasks.

While companies are introducing solutions that enable phones to take voice instructions from the users, MOTO W7 can be controlled with your gestures. You can flip the phone over to silence the ringer of an incoming call, snooze the alarm clock, or pause the music. And shake twice to instantly launch your favorite application, such as the music player. When showing off your photo albums or music libraries, you can flick the phone right or left to move between songs and images.

A built-in step pedometer counts and records your daily walks and runs to make every step count. Users can work out on their own terms with a Personal Trainer application that creates a personal profile and helps you to set goals, create workout profiles, and review summary reports.

MOTO W7, says the company, also features an MP3 player, FM Radio, and full screen video viewing, along with 8GB optional external memory. It’ll deliver a three-dimensional experience to enhance mobile games.

The phone features two cameras – a 2.0 megapixel for still images and a second VGA camera to make video calls to friends and family. You can use the full screen mode to check out your videos or clips from sites like YouTube. Plus, you can access the Web, download data, and stream video with 3G speed.

It’ll be offered in two colors – Licorice and Alpine White.
