Ultra Low-cost PCs
Windows Opening for Nettops
It’s all about ultra low-cost computers. Netbooks are low-cost notebooks, and nettops are low-cost desktops. And Microsoft won’t spare any – neither “books” nor “tops”. And today the software major announces that it’ll extend Windows operating system offering to the modern-day nettop devices.
As they’re low cost, netbooks and nettops target first-time users and students in emerging markets. These computers are primarily used for e-mail, Web surfing, and instant messaging,
According to Microsoft, it’s working with over 20 Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) including Acer, ASUSTek, BenQ, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and others to deliver Windows-based offerings to consumers using netbooks.
