Seagate Promises more Space
Storage solutions company Seagate Technology has revealed today about its Seagate Showcase storage solution, which will extend the storage capacity of Digital Video Recorders (DVRs). The Showcase family of products will be compatible with Motorola’s e-SATA capable high-definition (HD) DVR set-top portfolio.
The new products will allow consumers to store more shows, movies, and sporting events. With initial capacities up to 1TB, consumers will be able to keep up to 200 hours of additional HD movies or 1,000 hours of additional standard definition television content. Plug-and-play capabilities are possible through standard USB 2.0 or e-SATA connection.
Seagate says that the Showcase products are scheduled to be available for purchase on the Seagate website from the third calendar quarter of this year.
