Internet Users in China, USA

No. 1 on the Net: China or USA?
Quoting China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), web is abuzz with news today that with 221 million Internet users, China has surpassed USA to become the world’s No. 1 in Net user population. But when I checked the CNNIC web page a few minutes ago, it showed latest statistics up to June 30, 2007 when Internet users were 162 million instead of 221 million that today’s reports say.

So what’s the truth?
